[UPD] Quitting, Pausing


I'm back from my 7 day break (that I told nobody about).

The player is finally able to pause using the Escape key, and it's now possible to quit both an ongoing run and the game itself using the relevant menu options. It is also possible to navigate backwards in the character select and map select menus. Trivial things, I waited too long on this one.

Bugs exterminated: 1

  • Item Refinements do not show themselves

Up Next

I'm getting into the habit of writing a "what's next" section for these updates. It should help me focus on what needs to get done, and it might also get a few readers excited about future updates. This time though? I have to admit it's dry stuff. The player needs to start taking some damage; it'll be impossible to balance the player or the mobs otherwise. This makes for a great time to implement a stats board for when the player dies. If time allows, I'd like to look into a "better" map. The map is probably the most daunting task of the three, and it'll be equally as underwhelming for the player - for now, I plan on using more placeholders for the map with some variation.
