Almost as promised

The player will now find themselves damageable, they can die. Dying or quitting will display an end-of-run stats screen; please excuse the mess. The stats screen is mostly complete code-side for the equipped spells. Character stats will not be accurate. As for the map - I removed the ugly square that was previously "the map". There has been some code and a tiny texture atlas added which will be used for future iterations, but sadly a full map was not in the cards this time. The physical spell starter has been disabled for now, as they do not have a character model and I thought that would be confusing.

Bugs obliterated: 2

  • Cannot quit the game after quitting a run
  • The player is immortal

Up Next

The end-of-run stats screen is displaying inaccurate numbers for the character's stats. Fixing that will help me implement a planned feature down the road. I will be finishing up the Water character and spell animations, and perhaps start on a new character as well. Art is my weakest skill right now though, a new character might take some time.
